Abstract

One of the lines where in the last third of the 19th century the Czech capital was oriented to was Slovenia. Thus the bank Slavia opened its first out-of-Bohemia branch in Cisleithania in 1869 in Ljubljana. The author describes the activity of the Tradesmen's Bank (Živnostenska banka), the Central Bank of the Czech Savings-Banks (Üstredni banka českych sporitelen), the Czech Industrial Bank (Česka prumyslova banka) and the Agrarian Bank (Pozemkova banka) on the Slovene territory and their cooperation in the Slovene economy and with financial institutions.
