Recent Archaelogical Discoveries in Ptuj

Abstract

The article stresses out some points from the survey on archaeological field researches in Ptuj in recent 10, 15 years: 1. How much work was done in connection with preservation of the archaeological heritage and where the unsolved tasks are. 2. How we nowadays see the development of a settlement. 3. In which periods and in which fields of social life Ptuj was in it's ancient history particulary important (Neo- and Eneollthic, the Urn-Field Culture, Early Iron-Age, oldest Roman time, late 2nd century, late 3rd century, Late Antiquity, Early Middle Ages).
