Experiences of a Museum pedagogue in the National museum

Abstract

The museum as a precious treasury of informations for young and grown-ups has still not such a place in Slovenia as it should have. Its educative possibilities are not properly used yet, for there are no suitably conceived permanent exhibitions where the museum workers could develop pedagogic activities. Some temporal exibitions which took place in National museum in Ljubljana in the years 1986—88 still gave to the museum pedagogue the opportunity for systematic work with the visitors. It became evident that the youth, representlng two thirds of the museum public, is particularly willing to cooperate with the museum pedagogue and is fond of »different« museum, which is not tedious, where one can through game and unconventionally acquire interesting informations about the past.
