Abstract

The Enlightement brought to Slovenes conscious intellectual reflection on the question of national individuality and in connection with it on question of social meaning and function of the national language. The Slovene revivalists endeavoured for Slovenes to become a modem nation, a historical subject. The group around Žiga Zois translated from French to Slovene books of »Second Jansenism« and were directly acquainting with ideas of French Enlightment as well.
