From the recruiting district commissariats, which where in Carniola and Styria entrusted to certain land authorities and towns, and were founded for the needs of the recruiting system (from 1777 on), gradually developed the general distriet authorities. In Carinthia functioned as recruiting distriet commissariats the regional law-courts and larger domains. In Gorica and Gradišča regions worked in that funetion the jurisdictions, which were concentrated in 1788. A little different system of the administrative districts (but stili on the basis of the delegate-system) occured after 1814 on the territory of the former Illyrian Provinces, where the distriet authorities held also the jurisdiction; after 1835 they were gradually overtaken by the state into the direct administration.
