Abstract

In an oppositional struggle against the Bienerth government the few Slovene catholic parliament members managed to become one of the most decisive political factors in the Austrian parliament. The article deals with the most important parliamentary appearances of Dr. Ivan Šušteršič and Dr. Janez E. Krek, especially those concerning the then actual problems of the Bosnian agrarian bank. The author also sheds some light upon the alignment of the Slovene Club parliamentary members with other parliamentary groups, and especially their activities within the Slovene Unit in which the Slavonic Club parliamentary members had a predominant influence which has even overshadowed their Czech colleagues for a short time.
