On Displaced Persons (»D.Ps.«) and Yugoslav »Volksdeutschers«

Abstract

The paper, divided into three sections, treats a specific theme of D.Ps. in Austria during the first few years after World War II. Discussed is statistical data on D.Ps. and on »Volksdeutschers« according to the 1946-1952 statistics, followed by an analysis of the unrealised notion of the British Occupational Forces from 1946 to exchange Carinthian Slovenes for the remaining Yugoslav »Volksdeutschers«. Also added is more data on the destiny of »Germans« in Slovenia after 1945, for instance the exact date of their first transportation to Austria, and the text of the ssecret ACNLY decree on citizenship divestment.
