Slovenes and the economic Situation during the First World War
Abstract
The National Council was constituted in Ljubljana in the middle of August 1918 with the purpose to lead the Slovene nation in an organized way out of the declining Habsbourgh Monarchy into the new national Yugoslav state which was about to be founded. The members of the National Council were politicians and economists, who were eagerly preparing the ground for the time after the break-down of the Habsbourgh Monarchy. Most of all they worked on the organization of a new currency, they also vvanted to concentrate as much as possible the Slovene economic potentiality, especially the co-operatives of all kinds, they were planning the foundation of the provisions centre etc.
