National Liberation Movement, Triest, 1943Abstract
September 8th, 1943, is an important turning point of the national liberation movement of the Slovene nation. The inhabitants of the coast called the time between the capitulation of Italy and the German offensive "the time of the first liberty". The whole coastland, except Triest and Gorica, was liberated. The beginning of the German offensive at the end of September only partly depressed the general rebellion. The occupant was not in the state to stop the development of people's power, set up by Liberation Front and its organizations. The time after September 1943 was the time of universal growth of the new power, in which all inhabitants participated. There were greater problems, of course, in Triest, which, however, could not stop the growth of Liberation Front and its organizations.
