Slavs in Italy in Early Middle Ages

Abstract

The article deals with the settlement of Slavs on the Apennine Peninsula in the early Middle Ages which was the result of migrations of peoples and of military as well as agrarian colonisation in the period following the first part of the 7th century. Slovene colonies of Monte Gargano and Friuli (around the year 1000) are especially highlighted.
