Abstract

The Slovene playwright Ivan Mrak (1906—1986) wrote in the years 1944 till the beginning of the sixties the »Revolutionary Tetralogy« with the dramas Marat, Robespierre, Mirabeau and Andrej Chenier. The treatise dealing with this dramatics is first of ali literary historical, but at the same time strongly sociological and politicizing; the theme of the French Revolution is namely at the same time the actual theme of today's Slovene history and society.
