Abstract

On the 24th of May 1915 the Italian army carried out the so called first ofensive push and occupied the Slovene territory on the right side of the Isonzofront. This caused the evacuation of the civil population from the territories occupied by the Italian army which were in the so called operative zone. The refugees were assisted by the special service of a General Secretariat, which carried out the deporation in three steps: evacuation, intermediate station and the arrival at the final destination. The Slovene refugees were dislocated over the entire Italy. They began to return to their homes in the spring of 1919.
