Housing Culture of Some Streets in Ljubljana in 1910

Abstract

The research tries to present the housing stock and culture on the basis of data, comprised in the census of 1910 in Ljubljana. The author chose 5 models: a) cesta Franca Jožefa; b) the block »KMR« (Krojaška ulica. Mestni trg 23, 24 and 25, and Ribja ulica 2); c) cesta Svetega Petra 38—43; d) Glinška ulica and e) Galjevica. With each model the author tried first to describe the housing stock and then to give the picture of the housing culture of the model, where he tried to find out the housing typology, the density of lodgings occupation and of course the tenants. At the end of his research the author tries by means of the models comparison to give at least an approximate picture of the lodgings offer structure of the then Ljubljana as a whole.
