Capital City as a Symbol of National State in Eastern and Central Europe

Abstract

The paper is divided into three chapters: the initial description of Budapest as a case capital is followed by an analysis of the development of a capital as part of the modernization process, a discussion of the symbolic function of objects found in a capital, and a description of specific features of capitals in eastern central Europe.
