Abstract

Diplomatic analysis of the first half of the 12th chapter of Conversio Bagoariorum et Carantanorum indicated that, on October 12, 847, Louis the German issued only the charter for Pribina, which didn't base on the immunity privilege for Salzburg; that the author at his writing of the mentioned passage of Conversio probably used as a model Notitio, subsequently completed on the basis of the mentioned charter of Louis the German and supplemented with the list of witnesses, as well as the charter of Louis the German of 837, with which he confirmed to the Salzburg Church its immunity privilege; and that the datum which he concealed, namely that Pribina was also appointed the count of Lower Pannonia, most probably didn't originate from the charter, but was a part of common knowledge.
