This paper looks at the corpus of documents written for the Stična Cistercian monastery by Pilgrim I, the patriarch of Aquileia. With the exception of one, which is in original and was written in 1152, all documents have been preserved in later copies. On the basis of the diplomatic-paleographic analysis, which encompassed all relevant comparative material, it has been established that the two documents from 1136 and 1145 are genuine, while the other two concerning the incorporation of the St. Vitush parish and dating from 1135 and 1145 are most probably the product of the learned monastery chronologist Pavel Pucelj from the modern times.
