The Monetary Circulation in Slovenian Territory in the Late Antiquity

Abstract

The author notes the importance of critical analyses of all types of classical coin finds and distinguishes several possible methodological flaws in the interpretation of them. The sensitive reaction of coin finds to contemporary historical events in a closed area is illustrated by the author, using the example of the Alpine defence system (Claustra Alpium luliarium) in the late 4th century.
