Trade Traffic in the Larger Area of Višnja gora till the End of the 18th Century in the Light of Provincial-Judicial and Town Tollhouses

Abstract

Among Slovene towns Višnja gora has got one of the best kept archives from the end of the 15th century on. Together with other sources the archives make a complete picture of traffic ways and tollages in the large area of the provincial lawcourt between the rivers Sava and the upper stream of Krka. The treatise deals with allocation of tollhouses, their operating, tenancies. tollages, the kinds of goods, and tries to present the extent of the trade traffic on the main traffic road of the province Dolenjska (Lower Carniola) through Višnja gora, as well as on the side-roads, from the middle of the 16th till the end of the 18th century.
