Reestablishment of District Boards

Abstract

Based on archival documents, the article focuses on the preparations and procedu-res for the renewal of district boards in Kranjsko at the time of the constitutionalmonarchy. In order to achieve this, several problems had to be solved: politicaldistricts had to be clearly defined, and the problems of official premises and staffhad to be dealt with. The author analyzes the activities of Austrian government andits deputees in Kranjsko between 1863 and 1867 and examines the standpoint ofthe provincial assembly on the subject.
