Abstract

In the year 1918 people in Slovenia anticipated political, social and economical changes which reflected also in political discourse that was also associated with the entrance of women in politics. All three political parties in Slovene Territory have included in their programs also women's right to vote. However each of political parties had their own strategy for women's inclusion in to the party. For JDS (liberal party) the most important topic was the suffrage and they have practiced the policy of direct inclusion of women in to the party. SLS and JSDS had similar view on women's question they have both understood the women's issue as the issue of women's work and they argued women's entrance in to politics very esencialistic with the difference that JSDS has radicalized the concept of care and have also included women directly in to the party. SLS had different approach and has included women in their movement through associations and societies. But in fact all women's organizations worked in the scope of political parties and that was the main reason that after the First World War there was no collaborated women's action for suffrage. Women were mobilized just for the May Declaration movement in the name of the nation.
