Abstract

Based on a few new documents, the contribution aims to provide a detailed presentation of the career of General Johann Baron Samonigg, the native of Šoštanj, who tirelessly paved his way to the highest ranks and noble status. The contribution is rounded off and complemented by depicting the accomplishments attained by his son Adolf.
