Hallerstein of Carniola Brought the Light of knowledge to the Chinese

Abstract

Besides Astronomy Hallerstein also participated in the electricity research which paved the way for volta’s discovery of the electrophorus and the pile. those inventions enabled the long-duration observations instead of up-to-date quick discharges of the Leyden bottles. the scientists needed the novelties of that kind to understand the fashionable discharges of those days. Less useful electrical and vacuum equipment did not get so much attention in Beijing as the astronomy. the japanese users of the dutch science accepted better the vacuum research and especially electrical equipment because at least the Leyden bottle was essentially Dutch discovery.
