Abstract

On the basis of archives and literature the author discusses the development of Fascism in Istria, dividing it into three periods: from the end of World War I until the time when Fascism came into power, i. e. the march on Rome, the period leading up to the crisis generated by the murder of Matteotti, and, finally, the liter period during which structures were formed, the aid of which Fascism sought in order to gain the support of the masses. The author deals mainly with the period leading up to the crisis generated by the political and social circumstances in Istria in the middle of 1923.
