The Yugoslav Workers' Association »Sloga« (Unity) in Vienna

Abstract

Drawing on newspaper and archival sources, the author describes the activities of the Yugoslav workers' association »Sloga« (Unity), which was founded in Vienna in 1891 and which united Croatian, Slovene and Serbian workers employed in Vienna. Some of them were later to become leaders of Croatian and Slovene social democracy. They influenced predominantly the activities of the association. It engaged in educational, cultural, as well as political matters.
